Rick Lill is the founder and owner of Triton Water Rescue. With 17 years of ocean lifeguarding experience Rick began working races and took it to the next level. He currently sits on the United States Lifesaving Associations committee of 4 guards revising the Open Water Event Safety Guidelines. Rick is obtained his Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, and is currently a Licensed Social Worker at Preferred Behavioral as a Child/Adolescent Therapist. With his background in mental health Rick began researching the effects of anxiety on Triathletes and believes there is a link with the recent deaths in Triathlon Swims.
As an athlete, he competed at a Division I Level for Mount St. Mary’s and Monmouth University. Post college Rick has competed in multiple road races, sprint triathlons, Timberman 70.3 and Providence 70.3. He is also the race director for the Pine Beach 5K, Pine Beach Triathlon, and assisting with the Seal Challenge 5K.
