Triton Water Rescue is currently working on the 2013 schedule and would like to add your race to the list. This year we will be offering more services for the races so if you would like to utilize Triton Water Rescue for one or multiple services please let us know.
Triton Water Rescue will recruit certified lifeguards to work your race. A head lifeguard will be provided to organize the lifeguards in the water and an additional documentor will be provided to take incident reports which will act as documentation of any individual who was rescued. Incident reports will also be used as data for research on drowning deaths in triathlons.
With this service your race will be evaluated on multiple levels to ensure safety and that your course is swimmer friendly. After evaluation we will send you the results with recommendations on how to improve your course for safety. When these adjustments are made, Triton will then certify your course as a safe, well designed race course. In the event that something devastating happens during your event, you will be able to show that your race was evaluated for safety and approved by a professional rescue service.
Triton will provide to athletes a relaxing visualization to help them prepare for the race mentally. This will help to ease pre-race and swim anxiety.
Swim Warm-Up & Clinic
This service will entail a Professional Triton Lifeguard discussing with athletes the dangers of the swim and how to know if you need help based on the research performed by Rick Lill, owner of Triton Water Rescue. The lifeguard will also cover reasons that athletes may be pulled from the water ensuring that everyone is kept safe, how to put on the wetsuit, spotting in the water, design of the course, as well as giving athletes the ability to meet the guards that will be protecting them the next day. After discussion, athletes will be given an opportunity to swim in the water and warm-up for the following day. This warm-up provides the athletes with an opportunity to mentally & physically adapt to the aquatic environment in a very relaxing non-competitive environment, get to know the lifeguards and try out their wetsuits for the first time instead of at the race where they may panic. This is an additional cost to the athletes themselves, but can be made mandatory and added to registration fee.
Provide Triton with the body of water you are using for your race and we will design a course for you. In addition recommendations will be made to ensure that the course is safe and well protected. For a comprehensive design Triton will travel to your location and work with you on the course design.
Set-Up & Break-Down
Triton can provide your race with guards who will help with the set-up and break-down for your entire race or just the swim portion.
Seminars & Lectures
Through the research done by Rick Lill he will present “Confident Swimming” to your audience. This seminar goes over the reasons we experience anxiety in swimming and ways individuals can over come fears through proper breathing, visualization, and therapeutic techniques designed to decrease anxiety. This seminar is geared to all levels of athletes and can be applied to all areas of competition.
